A BETTER FUTURE:
THE PATH TO PERMANENT RESIDENCY FOR CAREGIVERS
For many foreign national caregivers dreaming of a life in Canada, the Home Child Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot offer a beacon of hope. These economic pilot programs are designed to provide a pathway to permanent residency for caregivers, even if they don’t meet the typical immigration requirements.
The Home Child Care Provider and Home Support Worker pilots, initiated on June 18, 2019, and set to continue until June 17, 2024, offer an expeditious route to permanent residency for foreign in-home caregivers. Notably, these caregiver programs have introduced intake sub-caps, with 60% of applications directed towards the Gaining experience category and the remaining 40% towards the Direct to permanent residence category, streamlining the immigration process for these valuable workers.
Our Services
Candidate Eligibility: Who qualifies for this Application?
To be eligible for these pilots, you must:
- The applicant must have a qualifying job offer or Canadian work experience in an eligible caregiver occupation.
- The applicant must meet the minimum education and language proficiency requirements.
Application Processing: How much time it takes?
The good news is that initial applications have a 12-month target processing time. And, if you can prove that you’ve met the work experience requirement, it’s even faster, with a 6-month target processing time.
Understanding The Requirements
Applying under these pilots can be done with or without 12 months of eligible Canadian work experience. Let’s break it down:
Gaining Experience Category (Category A): If you have less than 12 months of Canadian work experience, you must meet certain criteria upfront. This includes language proficiency, education, a valid job offer, and being admissible to Canada. You’ll be issued an occupation-restricted open work permit (OROWP), and your permanent residence application will be put on hold. Your dependents may also be eligible for open work permits or study permits.
Direct to Permanent Residence Category (Category B): If you have 12 months or more of Canadian work experience, you need to meet language and education requirements, the Canadian work experience requirement, and admissibility criteria.
Why Choose Us?
- For Category A, once you’ve obtained 12 months of eligible Canadian work experience, your permanent residence application resumes processing. You must prove your work experience within 3 years of receiving your OROWP. In some cases, if you submit proof before processing your OROWP, the officer may assess the work experience.
- For Category B, if the work experience doesn’t meet the criteria, your application may be refused.
Application Assistance: We provide guidance and support throughout the process. Our team ensures that your application meets all the requirements and is submitted accurately and on time.
Adherence to Timeframes: We emphasize the importance of timelines and file your application on time and revert IRCC queries and requirements in time, following IRCC guidelines.
Thorough Guidance: We provide comprehensive guidance on the application process, ensuring you understand your rights and limitations during the processing period.
Our goal is to simplify the process for you, ensuring that your application is accurate, timely, and compliant with Canadian immigration regulations.
These pilots provide a chance for caregivers to build a better future in Canada. It’s a pathway to permanent residency, and with the right qualifications and determination, your dreams of a life in Canada can become a reality.
