PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS PR SPONSORSHIP:

REUNITING FAMILIES IN CANADA

The IRCC Parents and Grandparents PR Sponsorship program, affectionately known as the Parent and Grandparent Program (PGP), stands as a heartwarming opportunity within Canadian immigration.

In 2023, IRCC has sent invitations to apply to 24,200 interested potential sponsors. These invitations were provided to randomly selected potential sponsors from the remaining pool of submissions from 2020. IRCC has set its aspirations to receive 15,000 complete applications.

WHO CAN BE A SPONSOR AND APPLY?

To take the next steps in the program, you need to meet specific criteria:

  • The sponsor must be at least 18 years of age.
  • The sponsor must be a resident of Canada.
  • The sponsor must be either a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or an individual registered in Canada under the Canadian Indian Act.

WHY SHOULD YOU CONSIDER THIS PROGRAM?

If you have made Canada your home and yearn to bring your parents and grandparents closer to your heart, the IRCC Parents and Grandparents PR Sponsorship program can turn this dream into a reality.

A pivotal aspect of this program involves demonstrating your financial ability to support your sponsored family members. This requires providing proof of your income, and if needed, you can enlist the support of your spouse or common-law partner by having them co-sign the application, allowing your incomes to be combined.

Moreover, both you and your parents and grandparents must meet all the other outlined requirements specified in the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations. Fulfilling these criteria paves the way for a heartwarming reunion with your loved ones in Canada.
